Cabin Life – Thanksgiving Weekend 2011

We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Day. Ours was quiet but we did make a turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce. It was a small bird. Friday, Tim and Ed came for two days to help us put electrical into our garage. We dug the trench we needed on Thanksgiving. One problem we hit a water line when doing the trench, but it was easy to fix. We also finished off our plumbing repairs from the water leak out back. We also finally started to cut down the dead manzanita in back.

Ed did a real nice job on the electrical on Saturday. It seemed to take longer than we thought, but doing it right takes time. The only problem we had was that the pipe going into the garage wasn’t connected to the pipe to the box in the road. It was awhile ago when we set it up and I guess we didn’t remember we needed to hook it up, which Dennis did in short order.

Sunday it was really windy and the wind broke off the front awning of the trailer, which was down, but we guess got lifted up and then the hinges broke and it was starting to blow off when we saw it and took it off. We think it can be fixed.

Ed got sick on Sunday but said the Guesthouse was a good place to rest. We dug a hole out back to try and move the pistachio tree in the front to the back while it is dormant.

  1. Busy, busy, busy…….getting it all done takes time and energy! I bet the guesthouse had room service for Ed when he got sick on Sunday. Great job, Tim and Ed. Love you all……

  2. Great pictures. I will miss the old manzanita but the bird feeders look good in the other tree. I love that picture of Tim with his hair on end. You guys are always busy doing something. You do such good work. So proud of you both. Love ya both.
