Limoncello – Part 2

Time to add syrup to Limoncello. Should be ready around the first of May. We’ve had a week of summer like weather. Flowers are starting to bloom and the cats are starting to hunt. We did a taste teste of the Limoncello and even before it rests for 40 more days it tastes better than last year’s.

Pala Indians don’t get Warner Springs Ranch | San Diego Reader

First news article I’ve seen about the Ranch. The saga continues…

Bankruptcy Court Judge Louise Adler has awarded ailing Warner Springs Ranch to the low bidder, denying it to the Pala Indians, but an unusual twist suggests to some skeptics that the tribe will eventually get the rundown 2500-acre resort with hot springs, tennis courts, casitas, horse stables and golf course.

Cabin Life – March 17, 2013

Here are some more pictures of last weekends trip to visit Bob’s family in Northern California.  On the way up we stopped in Santa Barbara and Paso Robles to visit with our friends Rick and Ky and their daughter Genevieve.  We haven’t seen them since before Genevieve was born and she’s a doll.  Then we visited Sunnyvale with a trip to Napa to have dinner with Bob’s Sister’s family and meet his niece’s new baby Dorothy.  On the way to Napa we stopped in Golden Gate Park to see the new California Academy of Sciences building.

Making the soda bread for my “Big Gay” Irish Husband (an inside joke; check out the link for an event happening today my niece misunderstood as political).  They say the bread is better a little stale so I’m making it this morning before going to work.  No raisins!  Here’s a simple recipe:

96 degrees at 4:30 pm in Borrego Springs, they said it broke 100 today. At least it’s a dry heat…
