When Bob was waiting for the Fire Department to get a burn permit on Friday he stopped by Shadow Mountain. Alex shared his new vintage of Cabernet from 2007 and Bob bought two bottles.
He also told Bob about winning a bronze medal in San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. They won for the 2006 Syrah and Merlot.

They removed the roof of the old fire station. It is a nice brick structure, it is a shame they didn’t just remodel it. For a State that is supposed to be broke, they find ways to waste money.
After a week without seeing it, the helicopter is back working on the power poles today.
Bob and Ginger took the Pacific Trail hike this weekend and saw they have started work on the new Fire Station.

Everyone is out of the old fire station in Warner Springs. Dennis says the Pala Indians are selling the land it’s on (it used to be part of Warner Springs Ranch) to the Forest Service, and once it closes Escrow, they plan to build a state-of-the-art building. In the meantime, the crew has a house rented in Los Tules, and the trucks are parked across the street at Warner Springs Community Center.

Finally, after many delays, Dennis heard today, the Pala Indians (Cupeño) signed the paperwork to close the sale of Warner Springs Ranch. In 30 days they will once again own their ancestral villiage, Cupa.
