Cabin Life – Happy Halloween

Friday night Bob met Dennis in Borrego after he worked to check out Night Fall, a star gazing party for amateur astronomers. We got there early and walked to Red Ocotillo Restaurant with Ginger. They have a pet menu there, so we took Ginger out to dinner. When we walked back there were lots of stars and they were setting up the telescopes. These were serious telescopes. One was big enough that you needed a ladder to look into it. Everyone was so busy setting them up they didn’t seem to want other people to look into them, and we were afraid of doing something wrong with them, so we left early.

Saturday night David, Erik, and their dogs, Bosco, Blu, and Butters came for the night. We had good stars and saw Andromeda and the moons of Jupiter through the binoculars. Bosco is getting old so it’s hard for him to travel, and we were glad he made it out.

Sunday, Dennis planted some native agave by the Guesthouse and Bob finished painting the outside of the shower wall. Then, we went down to Ed and Linda’s to have dinner. What a beautiful sunset from their back porch overlooking Pauma Valley.

  1. I like the idea of being able to take Ginger out to dinner, what fun. Skeletons, ghosts and goblins are all around us this evening. Actually, princesses, cheer leaders and super heros. Don’t think you will get many trick or treaters tonight. Love you both and look forward to seeing you soon.

  2. Too bad you didn’t get to look through the telescopes but I guess Ginger had a good time. Their dogs look big. Nice Halloween deco on your road and I really like the pumpkin. The shower looks good and so do the plants. No picture of the sunset? Happy Halloween and love you both.
