How things have changed:
Cabin Life – December 27, 2010
Mike came up Thursday night to spend Christmas. Friday, Dennis had to work at the Post Office. Mike and Bob brought him lunch on the way to Shadow Mountain to buy some wine and have a picnic lunch. Friday night we made Mike’s special Shrimp Scampi for Christmas Eve dinner. We started to watch the 8 part “The Pillars of Earth”. We liked it so much by the end of the weekend we had watched all the parts. On Christmas, Tim and Ed came up for dinner and we had ham with roasted veg and potatoes. Sunday, after Tim and Ed left, Tom, Jodi, their kids, Olivia, Nick and Zack, plus Tom’s parents and sister who are visiting came to check out our place. After a short visit we all went to Wynola Pizza for lunch, before we took Mike home and Bob worked at the Timken.

Merry Christmas !!!
Merry Christmas from a beautiful sunny Cielo Grande. The lake is filling up from the storm of the decade. 10 inches of rain is a good start to the rainy season. Let’s hope for a few more good storms before the winter is over. We are going on our morning hike with Ginger. Wishing everyone all the best for the New Year!!!
Hike with Ginger after the “Storm of the Decade”
5″ of rain since yesterday. During a clearing this afternoon Bob took Ginger for a walk down to the road. Here are some pictures. Don’t let the news scare you. There was a lot of rain, but at least here, it was a good thing. More water for our well!

Big Storm
We had 3.7″ of rain last night. It’s still raining today. Everything seems okay. The Guesthouse is still standing.
Marilyn made a cute video for us for a Christmas Greeting. Check it out.
Creek starts flowing
So far a little over 5″ of rain from Pineapple Express. Today and tomorrow are supposed to bring the most rain. We’ll see if we can beat the week of Don and Brenda last year.
On our walk today we saw the creek started flowing:
Seley Reds are in!
Bob is excited. The new crop of red grapefruit came to Don’s Market this week. Seley Reds.
More Rain!
Now it’s starting to come. 2″ in the last day. Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be the strongest. Lot’s of fun walking Ginger in the rain this morning. The creek is starting to flow, but now quite yet. Maybe tomorrow.
