Eurovision Song Contest

Yesterday was first semi-finals. Thursday is second semi-final, and Saturday is the finals. From yesterday, I had heard about the women from Russia, but I’ve got to say their song is catchy…

Solar eclipse 2012: California likely to offer impressive views – latimes.com

Parts of California will have strong views of Sunday’s "ring" eclipse.

The partial solar eclipse will occur late in the day in Southern California on Sunday, beginning at 5:24 p.m., reaching its maximum coverage at 6:38 p.m., and exiting the sun’s path at 7:42 p.m., just 10 minutes before sunset. "That means the sun is fairly low in the northwest, and you want a clear view of the northwest horizon," said Griffith Observatory director Ed Krupp.

Cabin Life – May 19, 2012

Dennis’ parents Don and Marilyn have been visiting for the week. We’ve had some good weather and good times. Only bad thing might be the biting flies that are out, but a cool day yesterday and some wind has kept them down. Friday afternoon Dennis and Bob made a batch of Lemoncello from lemons from Ed and Linda’s trees. Today we drove to Ramona to go to the store and on the way stopped at Milagro Winery near the Camel Dairy on the way to Ramona and did a wine tasting. We had a good smoked rib dinner at “Just In Time Deli” in Ramona and came home to make some strawberries (fresh picked by Marilyn this morning) with cake and cream for dessert.

Farewell to Bosco

Last week Bosco, David and Erik’s dog that visits us, passed away in his sleep. He was 16 years old, so lived a good, long, life, but still will be missed by us, and especially David and Erik. Our hearts go out to them in comfort.

Season Change

I have a fly bite on my hand and leg and there were two small brushfires this weekend. One between Julian and Borrego, and the other south of Ramona. The Seasons are changing.

Hot enough for a dip

Second day Ginger’s taken a dip in water trough on the hike. It’s getting hot.
