SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Hundreds of rural East County residents were under mandatory evacuation orders Wednesday as more than 1,000 firefighters battled five lightning-sparked brush fires — three that are fully contained and two that are threatening to merge.

Got calls this morning frotm the Timken and our neighbor Nicki about if the fires were threatening us. I hadn’t heard anything, so I called David who is watching the cats. He said there was a lot of smoke over by Palomar but it was clear at our place. From the fire map it looks like the fires are moving away from us. Luckily so far no homes have burned.
That was just after breakfast. Now a wine tour.
Nice house. Good steak dinner. Today is Ed’s birthday.
Trip to Paso Robles gets off to a slow start. Nothing a seasoned traveler can’t handle (after a glass of wine).

Came to the Timken early Sunday and noticed a lot of trash. When I went to clean the back windows, the reflection pond by the Arboretum was drained. People were working to fix it and to rescue some turtles. I didn’t see any fish dead, but I don’t know how they could have survived. The Police were there and someone said a flash mob destroyed the Park last night. Sometimes I hate being human.
Last night Chihuahua Fire 30% contained. I didn’t smell as much smoke and no plume this morning.
