Oh Neil!

On my drive home I listen to some songs from Neil Diamond’s last album.  This one reminded me of our limo drive through Paso Robles wine country since my iPod was the only music we had…

Then when I got home I looked up some Youtube videos and saw this.  With so much talk nowadays about individual success, it was nice to remember when it wasn’t so bad to care about each other.

Big Rain

Big storm to the East as Bob goes into town.

Dennis says we got almost an inch (0.9″) out of it. WooHooo!

Ramona Sign Guy

New sign. I don’t think he realizes that part of an IQ test is spacial skills. The “No Mas” doesn’t fit too well.

Matthew 7:6 Not sure the significance. Whoever is voted for President you give them some power. What is being thrown? And who is the pig?

Cabin Life – August 26, 2012

Jim and Louise made a visit for the weekend.  We had three good morning hikes with Ginger. Saturday we made a trip into San Diego to go to Tim and Ed’s niece Kristy and her fiance Kevin’s engagement party.  On the way into town we stopped by  Milagro Winery to get some wine and show it to Jim and Louise.  Then we drove by San Vincente Golf Course in Ramona.  Louise and Jim had never been to Country Estates before and were surprised with how many homes were out there and how nice the golf course looked.  They will try to play there soon.  On Sunday we finished the footing for the tractor shed, then headed down to Pauma Valley for dinner with Linda and Ed at the Lazy H.

Cabin Life – August 22, 2012

Bob took Ginger on hike at Warner Springs over the weekend.  Several weeks ago the big oak by the entrance to the hike had fallen down.  Now they have it cut up.  There were lots of firetrucks around over the weekend, but luckily the fire from the lightening strikes was pretty much out.

On Wednesday Dennis worked on the backsplash for the counter at the Guesthouse and Bob got a couple coats of varnish on it.  Jim and Louise come on Thursday for the weekend.

We also got some pictures from the Limo driver of our wine tasting.  Some are when we had our private tasting with the winemaker Larry Stanton at Cerro Prieto.

More Pictures of Paso Robles trip

Here are some more pictures of our trip to Paso Robles for Ed’s birthday celebration.  On Wednesday we went to Lake Nacimiento for a dip and ball play with Ginger.  Later we had a wonderful dinner at Justin Winery.  It was a 5 course feast of fine cuisine paired with Justin wines to enhance the flavor. It was a real treat.

Vallecito Fire Update

Got home last night with a big plume of smoke rising from behind Cielo Grande. The wind was blowing toward us and it smelled of smoke all night. Today, no smoke. And it looks like the fire is burning out. Good news.

Ed’s 80th in Paso Robles

We had a good day for Ed’s birthday. After making breakfast at home, we took a limo to three wineries on the way to Cambria to have dinner at the Sea Chest. The limo drive home got wild when Bob put on the top 40 playlist from Spain and we got the party going. Tara is a great dancer. Ed sat up front with the driver, which probably was a good thing. We were being very silly.
