Highway closed after K-9 Unit crashes | FOX5 San Diego – San Diego news, weather, traffic, sports from KSWB

Dennis had to drive around through Julian and Scissor Crossing (over an hour and a half) because the road was closed this morning because of this accident. He was bringing the mail from Santa Ysabel because the regular guy couldn’t get through. Sadly it looks like someone died.

SAN DIEGO — Authorities have closed state Route 79 south of Warner Springs after a state Department of Corrections K-9 unit apparently crashed and rolled on the remote rural roadway. The California Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at about 7:20 a.m. The white Ford Crown Victoria K-9 patrol car could be seen right-side up in the roadway perpendicular to traffic in helicopter video from the crash scene. The roof was clearly damaged and debris littered the roadway around the car.

Cabin Life – March 24

Yellow flowers are really blooming now. Just last week it looked like they weren’t coming. We got some more brush cut. Dennis sprayed some weeds, and Bob finished a painting job on the A-Frame garage. Never seems to be enough time. Hot tub for sunset.

Today the Sheriff said that some hikers had called in and led them to the safe. It was near the Indian Flats campground between Warner Springs and Lost Valley. It was busted open. Hopefully there were some clues to who did it.

Warner Sprinch Ranch sold but not to Pala Indians | UTSanDiego.com

Another article on the sale of Warner Springs. One things these articles don’t mention is that all the locals were happy that Pala was the first to buy the Ranch but they kept stalling to close the escrow for two years with law suits and problems with the property. Also, it’s never mentioned that not all Pala Indians are descendants of the Kupa who lived at Warner Springs. Just recently many people that claimed Kupa decent were kicked out of Pala for not having enough Indian blood. The original tribe was small when they were moved 100 years ago. Who were they supposed to marry to keep pure blooded? There is a lot of politics with tribal membership now that there is casino money.

WARNER SPRINGS — The historic Warner Springs Ranch resort has emerged from bankruptcy and been sold at auction to a San Diego hotel management and development company for $11.75 million.
