New Show at Timken – Beyond America

The Timken is installing a new exhibit throughout the Museum called Beyond America. It’s also has parts in other Museums. Some of the art reminds me of “Emperors New Clothes”, but I’m waiting for didactics on each painting to see if I’m missing something.

Warner-Carillo Ranch House

Soft opening November 17, 2012. We stopped by Santa Ysabel Store which had soft opening today, and they were getting a replica stagecoach delivered. They needed help getting it off the truck and asked Dennis and me to helped. The coach will eventually be moved to the Warner-Carrillo House near Warner Springs. It was how the mail was delivered in the old days.

Movie Shoot in town

Dennis noticed a craft service setup near Mataguay Creek down the hill from us. A little later a bunch of people showed up for a big location filming. Tomorrow Dennis will find out what it was, but they were doing location filming for “Hangover III” in Orange County over the weekend.

Barrett Road gets a new cattle guard

Vista Irrigation is putting in a new cattle guard on Barrett Road, the road next to us towards Warner Springs. They are putting it pretty far back from the road, so we think they’ll have to make a fence to it. There was talk last year of them grazing cattle again on our side of the road. Maybe they are getting ready to do it. Will our road be next?
